One of the players that has lost the most ground following the arrival of Santiago Solari to Real Madrid’s bench has been Marco Asensio. The Spain international, who was once compared with Cristiano Ronaldo, has fallen down the manager’s pecking order and there’s no clarity on whether he will become an important part of the side again.
Right now, it seems Asensio is the fifth forward on the squad when it comes to revelance, below Karim Benzema, Vinicius Junior, Gareth Bale and Lucas Vazquez. Needless to say, this will only lead to Asensio having very few minutes on the pitch, and the numbers do not lie.
In fact, the Clasico defeat was the 17th time Asensio has started on the bench this season and all signs indicate that he could be ready for a move. And Juventus have already taken notice of this situation. According to a report from outlet Tuttosport, The Old Lady have reportedly made an enquire for the services of the all-around forward although Los Merengues never responded to it.
It’s unclear how would Asensio fit within Juventus, though, since he would have to compete with players such as Douglas Costa, Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic and Juan Cuadrado, among other, solely for playing time. But regardless of that, the Serie A giants have posed their eyes on the talented forward. We will have to wait until the summer to see what happens here.
