Chelsea have been trying to sign Alex Sandro for almost an entire year.

Even though The Blues have a competent left-back in Marcos Alonso, Antonio Conte loves Alex Sandro and wants to bring him to Stamford Bridge as soon as possible. Chelsea have made several offers in the past and all of them have been denied, but things have changed over the past few weeks. And Chelsea might end up signing the Brazilian after all.

According to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb, Chelsea have finally been handed some encouragement in their long-term pursuit of the former FC Porto star, as Alex Sandro is apparently keen to move after the 2018 World Cup. The 26-year-old is eager to leave Italy, and could eventually become the most expensive defender in the world if he completes a switch to Chelsea.

It remains to be seen if Conte stays at Chelsea for a long period of time, and they would probably have to do something with Marcos Alonso in case Sandro arrives, as both players occupy the same position. But The Blues are obsessed with the Brazilian defender, and are willing to do whatever it takes to bring the talented full-back to the English Premier League.

Would that be enough? Apparently this time, the move might end up working for Chelsea.
