Real Madrid could be one of the most active teams during the January transfer window once the market opens in 2020, but it seems two players are ready to leave the club this summer in an effort to create space on the squad.

According to a report from Spanish outlet Marca, Los Merengues are keen to let Mariano Diaz and Brahim Diaz leave the club next year. However, both teams would leave the squad on different terms going forward.

According to that publication, Mariano is going to leave the club on a permanent basis. The Dominican-Spanish forward arrived in 2018 from Olympique Lyon for just over €21 million and he was expected to be Karim Benzema’s replacement, but has failed to live to the standards required.

He hasn’t played at all this season and head coach Zinedine Zidane has no place for the 26-year-old in the foreseeable future.

On the other hand, Brahim Diaz came in from Manchester City for €17 million as a young prospect, but hasn’t been able to gain many first team minutes. Even though Zidane keeps considering him, there’s no first-team role for him right now. Madrid want to keep him on the squad and therefore, they would be looking for a short-term loan.
