Sevilla were pretty active on Deadline Day, but there was one negotiation that did not pan out as expected for the Liga giants. Los Nervionenses wanted to add a new winger and reportedly set their sights in one of the top prospects in Europe, but failed to complete a move for him.

According to a report from Serbian newspaper Sportski Zurnal, Sevilla submitted a late bid to acquire Luka Adzic, who current plays for Crvena Zvezda. However, the Serbian side did not bite on the proposal and rejected the move.

Everything started when the player’s agent claimed his client could have left the club during the January transfer window since his contract ends at the end of the current season. This led Sevilla to step up their interest on the 19-year-old winger, but they “only” offered €1.5 million for his services. Crvena pulled away from any potential talk, and things did not progress from there.

Sevilla will likely make another approach for the star player, but they are set to face some tough competition on the race to acquire one of the hottest prospects in Europe since Ajax and a few more European clubs are keeping close tabs on him. All signs indicate he is leaving his current club, so it’s more a matter of “when”, instead of “if”.

Adzic made 14 league appearances this term with one goal and two assists so far. He also registered a hat-trick in his lone Cup contest during the current season.
