Once considered to be one of the best midfielders in the world, now Cesc Fabregas seems to be a forgotten man at Chelsea. And all signs indicate that the former FC Barcelona and Arsenal star is set to leave Stamford Bridge during the January transfer window.

The Spaniard has plenty of alternatives to move elsewhere, though. AC Milan have been long linked with a move for him, but two other European sides with a lot of history and accolades in their respective countries have entered the race for the talented playmaker. We are talking about Fenerbahce (Turkey) and AS Monaco (France).

Fenerbahce have recently entered the race for the Spaniard in an attempt to bolster their midfield depth, but Monaco seem to be leading the race since it has been reported that Cesc is keen to re-unite with former teammate Thierry Henry, who’s now the manager for Les Monegasques.

We can’t forget about AC Milan, though, as the Serie A giants have been tracking the veteran midfielder for several months already. But one thing seems certain – Cesc’s future seems to be quite far from both Chelsea and the English Premier League. Especially since his situation at Chelsea does not look likely to change any time soon.
