Oddly enough, Paris Saint Germain have been extremely quiet during the current transfer period and are yet to make a substantial addition to their current squad. However, that might change in the coming days.
As the transfer deadline approaches, clubs all over Europe are looking to bolster their current squads and the reigning Ligue 1 champions are among them. In fact, The Guardian has reported that Les Parisiens are considering a £100m move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen.
It seems clear PSG are looking to add some more creativity to their midfield. The Ligue 1 giants were already linked with a move for Barca’s midfielder Ivan Rakitic, but the Croatia international already announced he will stay at Camp Nou.
Therefore, Eriksen has emerged as an alternative. It is worth noting that Eriksen has just began his sixth season with Spurs, having signed from Ajax in the summer of 2013. Since then, he has racked up 227 appearances for the Spurs across all competitions, scoring 56 goals while being named as the club’s Player of the Year in both 2014 and 2017.
The 26-year-old has also been capped 82 times with the Denmark national team and has scored 23 goals, including one in the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Undoubtedly, he would give PSG’s midfield a huge boost, and another creative threat to pair next to the likes of Julian Draxler, Angel Di Maria and Kylian Mbappe in the final meters.
