Sanchez Rejects Madrid, Confirms City Desire

Alexis Sanchez is used to destroying club’s dreams. He did it on the pitch again for Arsenal once again when he scored the vital second goal in the Gunners 3 – 1 Europa League win over 1FC Köln.

And he’s broken Real Madrid hearts, according to the Daily Mirror. The Spanish club are desperate to improve their firepower next summer having missed out on Kylian Mbappe when the 18-year-old signed for Paris St Germain late in the last transfer window.

The 28-year-old is desperate to join Manchester City and reunite with former boss Pep Guardiola. It was the Catalan who signed Alexis for Barcelona from Udinese in 2011. However, that was the only season they worked together with Guardiola beginning a sabbatical from football in 2012.

Sanchez cut a frustrated figure during the Europa League clash with Köln as Arsenal had to come from behind to take three points. Following on from the substitute appearance against Bournemouth, it’s led to speculation over whether he will find himself playing in cup games and omitted from the Premier League starting XI with Danny Welbeck taking his place in the side.

Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo claimed that his Chilean international team-mate was inconsolable after the collapse of his deadline day move to City. While there is some suggestion the Citizens might submit a £20m offer to the Gunners in January, Arsène Wenger is adamant the player will stay until the end of his contract.
