One of the best summer signings has been Paco Alcacer’s arrival to Borussia Dortmund. The Bundesliga heavyweights needed some much-needed scoring punch and the Spaniard has provided exactly that.
Initially the deal was a season-long loan deal, but now the Bundesliga leaders are set to announce a permanent deal with the former Barcelona forward on Sunday, according to reports coming from Bild. The 25-year-old has been playing at a very high level for Dortmund, and will be rewarded for his contributions.
Alcacer has nine goals in only eight appearances for the Bundesliga giants, including the winning goal coming off the bench in Der Klassiker against Bayern Munich the last time out. He has not been starting on a regular basis, but has looked extremely productive and his stellar form even allowed him to return to the National Team, something that looked quite unlikely only a few months ago.
The aforementioned report from Bild mentioned that the Spaniard is set to be announced at a club’s general assembly on Sunday. Dortmund will pay €23 million to sign Alcacer on a permanent deal and further €5 million in performance related bonuses and add-ons.
Alcacer will sign a five-year contract with the club and remain in Dortmund until 2023.
