When talking about midfield depth, Liverpool should be one of the richest clubs in the world. Names such as Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Georginio Wijnaldum, Fabinho and Naby Keita share central midfield duties, and names such as Xherdan Shaqiri can operate on a more advanced position.

However, The Reds keep looking at alternatives on the market and they have been linked with two new players. Both feature in the Bundesliga, and go by the names of Christian Pulisic and Karim Demirby.

Liverpool’s admiration for Pulisic is nothing new, and The Reds have been following the USMNT international for quite a while now. Pulisic hasn’t played regularly for Dortmund this season, but he remains one of the club’s biggest prospects and it’s unlikely to see them parting ways with him this early in his career.

Demirbay would a cheaper alternative, but there’s no question the Hoffenheim has lots of quality on his boots. His recent displays have made him a full Germany international, and he seems ready to make the jump to a more competitive environment in the near future.

It is believed that Liverpool would be open to part ways with Fabinho – who joined the club this summer but hasn’t impressed Jurgen Klopp – in order to fund a potential move for any of these two players.
