Manchester City set to finally seal £32m Leroy Sane transfer

Manchester City seem set to complete the signing of Leroy Sane, 20, from Schalke after it emerged that the German international has bid farewell to his current team-mates this weekend.

As protracted as their neighbours pursuit of Paul Pogba, 23, City have been tracking the German international for the whole of the summer and have finally reached an agreement to buy him for £31.2m.

Schalke recently landed 19 year-old Swiss international Breel Embolo as a replacement and are ready to release their own starlet into City’s care.

Pep Guardiola has made Sane and the signing of John Stones, 22, from Everton the centrepieces of his summer business as he looks to remodel the squad he inherited from Manuel Pellegrini following the Chileans departure last season.

Whilst talks with Everton have been intermittent, the Toffees are once again at the negotiating table with City looking to secure the centre back’s services in time for the Premier League kick-off in a fortnight’s time.

If Sane’s move had fallen through, it’s emerged City were ready to move for Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, 22. It’s believed the Gunners were unwilling to sell the England international despite the player suffering an injury-interrupted two years in north London.
