Inter Milan are keen to add one last reinforcement before the end of the transfer window.
Luciano Spalletti’s men are coming off an impressive win on the road against AS Roma last Saturday, but the veteran manager wants to add a bit more depth to his attacking line before the transfer window shuts next week.
According to a report from Corriere Dello Sport, Inter are interested in Keita Balde, one of the most intriguing prospects in the Italian Serie A and who is reportedly unsettled in Lazio. Balde has looked to leave all summer long, and all signs indicate he might get his wish granted in the coming days.
The one big hurdle Inter need to overcome is Lazio’s reluctancy to sell his star striker. Even though Balde is not expected to be a regular starter he remains a big part in the club’s plans, and Claudio Lotito, Lazio’s chairman, does not want to sell his forward to strengthen a direct opponent on the race for a European berth.
Keita is certainly talented, though. He is coming off an impressive season that saw him score 16 goals and five assists 31 Serie A matches in 2016-17. He is 3/1 to join Inter before the transfer window closes.
Inter are looking to add Balde on a season-long deal, although they would have to pay a mandatory €30 million fee to sign him ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.
