FC Barcelona have been linked with several attackers ever since the rumour of Neymar joining PSG became alive. Paulo Dybala and Philippe Coutinho were the two top names so far, but recent reports have added a third player that could sneak Los Blaugranas’ shortlist.
Of course, this player is no other than Kylian Mbappe. Monaco’s highly-touted youngster has been linked with an €180 million move to Real Madrid, but Barcelona do not want their rivals to sign him. And they are exploring alternatives to sign the 18-year-old phenom before he makes his way to Santiago Bernabeu.
Le Parisien confirmed the news that was later reported by SPORT. The Spanish outlet confirms that Barcelona are keen to start a bidding war for the French international, although it is not going to be easy. Aside from the two Liga giants, Manchester City have also expressed interest in signing Mbappe. And the Premier League side have enough cash to go toe-to-toe with anyone when it comes to a bidding war.
Right now, we should definitively add Barcelona as a team to watch in the Mbappe sweepstakes. He would be the perfect replacement for Neymar, but it remains to be seen where the French starlet will be playing once the upcoming season starts.
