Radja Nainggolan has been one of the popular transfer names over the past 12 months. The Belgium international has attracted interest from several teams all over Europe, but Roma are not keen to part ways with one of their most important players.
Apparently things haven’t changed of late, and Nainggolan remains unwilling to leave Roma in the near future. The talented playmaker was praised by Atletico Madrid‘s manager Diego Simeone following Roma’s 0-2 defeat against Los Colchoneros, as the Argentinian gaffer said Nainggolan “would be an extraordinary player” for Atletico.
However, Nainggolan does not want to leave the Serie A giants. Speaking in an interview with Mediaset after the game, the Belgian star said he is happy in his current club.
“I’ve said it before but I made a decision to stay here last year and this year and I’m delighted to represent this club,” Nainggolan said “I’ve got everything I need to be happy here.
Nainggolan was chosen as captain for Wednesday’s game due to the absences of Daniele de Ross and Alessandro Florenzi. He certainly fits the bill, as he has all the traits needed to be a successful leader both on and off the pitch.
This is not the first time Nainggolan has been linked with a move away from AS Roma. Chelsea and Manchester United were among the teams that were interested in him, and in fact United have sent scouts to watch him multiple times over the past 12 months.
But Nainggolan remains a Roma player right now. And based on recent reports and the player’s own words, that’s not going to chance any time soon.
