Elseid Hysaj is a wanted man all over Europe, and all signs indicate that he won’t be playing for Napoli during the upcoming 2019-20 season.
According to a report from Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, the highly-rated Napoli full-back is on his way out of the San Paolo Stadium, but there’s no clarity on which side will sign him. Atletico Madrid are quite interested in him, but Manchester United have also been linked with a move for the 25-year-old.
Juventus have also been mentioned as a potential destination for the Albania international. However, Juve already have decent depth on both full-back roles, and it doesn’t seem likely as if Napoli would like to strengthen a direct opponent on the Serie A title race.
As of right now, it seems Atletico Madrid are front-runners for the 25-year-old defender, as Napoli are “only” commanding €25 million for his signature. Hysaj would represent a clear improvement over Santiago Arias, who had an up-and-down season in his first year with Los Colchoneros.
Hysaj lost his starting place this past season at Napoli following the arrival of Kevin Malcuit, but is good enough to remain as a starter in several other sides. Maybe that’s why other sides are very keen to acquire him.
