Emre Can is leaving Liverpool as a free agent at the end of the current season. Everybody knows that, and there has been quite an interesting race to secure the services of the Germany international.
However, the shortlist has gotten even shorter indeed and if the reports from Italy are true, then Can is set to join either Juventus or Bayern Munich at the end of the season. He is in the process of making the decision, as both European giants have expressed a clear interest in securing his services.
One would think that Juventus can be deemed as favourites based on the fact that they have been pursuing Can for almost a year now, and they have maintained contact with his representatives during the entire campaign. The Serie A side even tried to sign Can this past summer, but Liverpool refused since they were convinced they could sign the defensive midfielder to a long-term deal. It seems they were a bit wrong.
On the other hand, Bayern have the plus of featuring the majority of the Germany national team. The squad already includes Manuel Neuer, Niklas Sule, Joshua Kimmich, Mats Hummels, Jerome Boateng, Thomas Muller, Sandro Wagner, and Leon Goretzka will join in July. Adding Can to the mix could benefit the German side incredibly.
Can is expected to make a decision on his future in the next couple of weeks.
