Sead Kolasinac has not lived up to expectations and it is clear that Unai Emery does not rate him highly. But considering Nacho Monreal is not going any younger either, it seems as if one of Arsenal’s biggest priorities for the upcoming summer will be to add a new left-back. According to a report from Portuguese outlet Record, The Gunners sent representatives to watch Benfica on Thursday and it has been rumoured that they were looking at Alex Grimaldo. Again. The talented fullback has quickly become one of the hottest names in the transfer market, and he seems certain to move to a bigger club next summer. The question is where he will land.
Arsenal are definitively interested, but they’ll only have a €40m budget, so Grimaldo, who is said to have a €60m release clause and has been in fine form this season, might be a bit out of their prize range. Arsenal have long been linked with the 23-year-old, though, and they would look for alternatives to complete the signing. It is belived that one alternative could be to send Nacho Monreal to Benfica.
