The agent of Santos midfielder Lucas Lima claims Manchester United are keeping tabs on the 27-year-old.
Manchester Evening News reports that Luccas Badia declared Barcelona, Roma, and Internazionale are also interested while Crystal Palace and Fenerbahce made bids in the summer.
The Premier League giants, the report states, are looking at a January move for a player whose contract expires in December 2018. With less than a year to run on his deal, Badia believes that the midfielder who has 14 caps for Brazil, will be available for a figure similar to the €20m Crystal Palace bid rejected by Santos in the summer.
It isn’t clear-cut that Lima would be a success in England. Indeed, Badia divulged that the player and his advisors are looking closely at the offers from Italy, claiming his client “would be well suited to the Serie A”.
Whether United are genuinely interested is unclear. At present, they are well-stocked in that department with Pogba, Mata, Mkhitaryan, Lingaard, and Fellaini all capable of fulfilling the attacking role Lima has made his own at Santos.
However, Fellaini has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford previously and it might that United wait until next summer before making a move.
Lima has made 192 appearances for Santos after joining from Internacional in 2014, scoring 19 goals.
