Real Madrid have struggled on the attacking end this season and while Karim Benzema has produced at an acceptable level, others – such as Luka Jovic – have not produced as expected. Therefore, Los Merengues are reportedly open to make a move to bolster their attacking depth during the upcoming January transfer window.

With that in mind, the Spanish giants have already identified two alternatives they could chase during the first month of 2020. These are Jadon Sancho and Erling Haland.

This isn’t the first time Real Madrid are linked with a move for Sancho. The England international has been one of Borussia Dortmund’s best players during the 2019-20 season and currently registers four goals and seven assists in 11 appearances across all competitions. He will be expensive, however, as he will reportedly command a nine-figure transfer fee.

Numbers-wise, there hasn’t been a better player in Europe this season than Haland. The Norway international currently plays for Red Bull Salzburg and has been nothing short of excellent. The 19-year-old has scored 11 goals to go along with five assists in nine Bundesliga appearances, while adding four more strikes in two Champions League appearances and three goals in one ÖFB-Cup appearance.

With 18 goals in 12 appearances in all competitions, teams will line up to sign Haland. But Real Madrid have already set themselves as the first team monitoring him closely.
