One of the most coveted midfielders in the Serie A could be close to complete a switch to the English Premier League in the near future.
According to a report from English newspaper The Sun, Radja Nainggolan has admitted to be a fan of English football, and went as far as saying that he would be interested in a potential switch to the EPL in the near future.
Nainggolan said: “Yes it’s a good league, beautiful stadiums, good atmospheres in the stadium, but at the moment my head is only there [Rome].”
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has admitted in the past he has tried to sign the 29-year-old, and Nainggolan would be keen to work with the former Juventus coach. However, Chelsea are not the only team in the potential race to acquire Nainggolan. Manchester United, Manchester City, and Liverpool have also been linked with the Belgian international over the past few months.
United have been the most active team on his pursuit, though. They went as far as sending scouts to watch him during Roma’s UEFA Champions League match against Atletico Madrid earlier this season.
Nainggolan did say he is completely focused at Roma, but he never ruled out a move to England. Considering Roma are a step below Inter Milan, Napoli and Juventus this season, don’t be surprised if the Belgian star ends up playing in the EPL sooner than later.
