One of PSG‘s best players is about to unleash a bidding war in Italy for his services.
Several reports have indicated that Inter Milan, AC Milan, and Juventus are all keen to sign Blaise Matuidi during the upcoming transfer window. And according to the player’s agent, Mino Raiola, all three Serie A giants remain interested in the 30-year-old defensive midfielder.
Speaking in an interview with Gazzetta Dello Sport that was originally about Gianluigi Donnarumma’s situation, Raiola confirmed there is a lot of interest for Matuidi as well, although he did not reveal if either team has the lead on potential transfer talk. Raiola also said he has no problem with Milan, and that they are among a handful of Italian clubs keeping tabs on Matuidi.
“I am not at war with AC Milan,” Raiola said. “They are being kept informed about Blaise, as are Inter and Juventus. We will see. One year ago, a move to Juve [for Matuidi] fell through because of political problems [at PSG]. Perhaps this time…”
All signs indicate that Juventus are a bit closer to capture the services of the French international, but nothing has been set in stone at the moment. The one thing that is clear is that Matuidi would be a quality signing for any of the three teams, because his experience and defensive ability would undoubtedly bolster any top team in Europe.
Matuidi is coming off another stellar season with PSG, registering seven goals and seven assists in 52 appearances across all competitions. He also participated in the 2016 European Championship with France.
