This past summer, Los Che signed Jeison Murillo and Geoffrey Kondogbia as both did not have space in the Serie A club, and the results have been excellent. Kondogbia has emerged as one of the best box-to-box midfielders in LaLiga, while Murillo would remain as a starter at centre-back hadn’t it been for injuries.
Considering their history, it does not look as a surprise that Los Che are looking to snap up another player from Inter. This time, the Spanish side is reportedly keen to make a move for Joao Mario, who has struggled to play on a regular basis for the Serie A side.
The Portugal international has not lived up to the hype after joining Inter on a €40 million transfer fee, and has been relegated to a secondary role in the club this season considering the stellar play of names such as Borja Valero, Matias Vecino and Ivan Perisic. Thus, the former Sporting Lisbon star is expendable, and Valencia would like to take advantage of that situation.
Los Che are likely to have competition to land the Portugal international, though. Several top clubs including Manchester United, PSG, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla are believed to be keen on Joao Mario, but they have so far failed to submit suitable offers.
