Gareth Bale’s time at Real Madrid might be coming to an end sooner than later.
The Welsh winger has been quite an asset for Zinedine Zidane when fit. However, the Welsh international has struggled with his fitness during much of the season. Thigh and calf problems have sidelined him for most of the current season, and recent reports have indicated Madrid have had enough of him, and are looking to cash on him before his value begins to decline.
Therefore, Madrid have set an £85 million price tag for any team that wants to sign him in the coming months. Manchester United have been reportedly linked with a move for the Tottenham star, although Chelsea are keen on Bale as well. It is believed that a deal will be made during next summer, and the transfer fee will likely be a direct result of how involved Bale is during the remainder of the campaign.
Madrid have enough options to replace Bale, though. Names such as Isco, Marco Asensio and Lucas Vazquez have proved to be decent alternatives to come off the bench, but Los Merengues are constantly scouting the transfer market so it would not be a shock to see them making a move for another player to take the Wales star’s place.
Bale has registered 159 appearances across all competitions for the Santiago Bernabeu outfit since joining in 2013, and has tallied an impressive 70 goals with 55 assists during that span.
