Napoli have made a habit of featuring talented midfielders in their squad over the past few years. Marek Hamsik, Jorginho, Piotr Zielinski and Allan have represented the Partenopei side over the past few season, although Jorginho currently plays for Chelsea.
Allan could also be another player set to leave the club, and recent reports have indicated that his departure might happen during the current January transfer window.
Ligue 1 giants PSG are considered to be favourites to sign the talented central midfielder, although no official bid has been made yet. Premier League duo Tottenham Hotspur and Everton are also scouting the 28-year-old playmaker, but it is believed that the French giants are leading the race to acquire him. Especially since Adrien Rabiot is set to leave the club once the current season ends.
The Brazilian’s current contract with the Serie A giants runs until the summer of 2023, so Napoli are not going to let him go cheaply. The player’s agent, Eduardo Uram, wants to initiate talks of a new contract for the player, especially with Manchester City reportedly lurking to sign. It is believed that a potential new contract would include a release clause well in excess of £100m.
A talented midfielder, there’s little doubt some of the clubs in the world are keen to sign Allan. The big question seems to be when – and where – he will leave.
