Rakitic Ready to Leave Barca, Premier League Duo on Alert

Ivan Rakitic is set to become the big-name casualty of Philippe Coutinho’s arrival at Barcelona, reports Diario Gol.

The 29-year-old Croatia international has already begun informal soundings of other clubs with the Blaugrana’s blessing, according to the Spanish media outlet.

Juventus, along with Premier duo Arsenal and Liverpool, have been made aware of the gifted technician’s desire to be king of a midfield. All three clubs have good reason to take a close interest in Rakitic’s availability.

The Reds for the obvious reason of losing 25-year-old Coutinho while Arsenal are preparing to lose Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Özil, both 29. The latter is interesting Juventus although they face strong competition from Manchester United for his services.

Rakitic and Coutinho are an unlikely midfield pairing in the Camp Nou with the Croat is not prepared to spend time on the bench at this stage of his career.

Fortunately, his place in his national team’s line-up is assured and with Coutinho cup-tied for the Champions League, Rakitic knows there is plenty of match-time to be claimed during the remainder of the season.
