Despite a lot of transfer speculation surrounding him over the last few weeks, it seems Radja Nainggolan will not leave AS Roma during the current transfer market.
The Belgian international has been heavily linked with a potential move to Manchester United, Chelsea, and Inter Milan, and there was a report earlier this season that the 29-year-old would consider a move to Old Trafford. However, Roma’s sporting director, Monchi, confirmed their star player will not leave the club this summer.
Speaking in an interview on the club’s official website during the official presentation of new signing Maxime Gonalons, Monchi said Nainggolan is not leaving the team, while also adding that no other big-name players will leave the team during the coming weeks.
Nainggolan joined Roma from Cagliari in 2014, and has become a very important piece for the team since his arrival. The Belgian star has helped Roma claim two runners-up finishes in Serie A, as well as third place in 2015/16.
One of Nainggolan’s biggest strengths is his scoring ability coming from midfield, and that was evidenced last season once again. The talented box-to-box playmaker netted 14 goals and added seven assists in 53 appearances across all competitions for the Italian side last season.
