When Bayern Munich want a specific player, they’re usually insist and don’t stop until they sign him. And Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi might be latest example of that attitude. The talented winger suffered a season-ending Achilles injury but he’s expected to return quicker than expected. That has only intensified Bayern’s interest to acquire him.
Latest reports have indicated that Chelsea’s star winger might return to action in four to five months. That would represent quite an upgrade over previous reports that indicated Hudson-Odoi was facing a six-month spell on the sidelines, and Bayern are keen to make another summer bid for the youngster, as they are keen to bring him to the Bundesliga this summer.
It’s not like Bayern need attacking depth, but they could certainly use another winger or two for the next season, especially after the announcement that both Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben will leave the club once the current season ends. Hudson-Odoi would be an excellent replacement, as he could be a short-term and long-term option at the position alongside Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry.
Bayern already missed the chance to sign Hudson-Odoi for a huge £35m bid in January, but we can expect them to be back at it with another offer this summer. Perhaps a much-improved one looking to sweeten the deal as the Bundesliga giants want the 18-year-old at all costs this summer.
