Mehdi Benatia is reportedly unhappy at Juventus, and the Morocco international would be open to leave the Serie A giants as soon as the January transfer window opens at the start of 2019 and if the recent reports are true, then we could be in line for a bidding war involving the 31-year-old defender.

According to a report from ESPN FC, the Morocco international is concerned with his lack of playing time with the Serie A giants, and he is reportedly mulling an exit from the reigning Italian champions. And Manchester United are leading the race to acquire the towering defender, as Jose Mourinho believes his experience could be a huge plus in a somewhat young defensive line.

The Red Devils are not the only team interested in Benatia, though, since Arsenal and Barcelona are also keen on the former Bayern Munich star.

According to Le10Sport, Arsenal’s boss Unai Emery is keen on Benatia since he would be an upgrade over the current in-house alternatives. Meanwhile, Barcelona are rumoured to be interested as well, according to Mundo Deportivo, but Los Blaugranas are also monitoring David Luiz and Laurent Koscielny.

Undoubtedly, it will be a very interesting race to see who gets Benatia. But we will have also have to monitor whether Juventus want to let him go or not.
