Tottenham Hotspur have been keeping tabs on Senegalese striker Moussa Konate, 23, all season but now look set to ramp up interest and table a bid when the window opens.

Konate has become one of Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino’s top transfer targets after interest in West Brom striker Saido Berahino cooled.

The FC Sion striker has been in fine form scoring 24 goals in 46 games in the Swiss Super League, attracting interest from several European clubs.

Tottenham will attempt to bring the player to White Hart Lane with an opening offer thought to be around £6m.

Spurs have identified the striker position as one of the areas needing most improvement next season, in order to take the goal burden off the clubs current leading goal scorer Harry Kane.
