AC Milan are at a crossroads right now. With a matchup against Inter Milan looming on the horizon, the uncertainity regarding their Financial Fair Play status, and the fact they are far from clinching an either Europa League or Champions League berth despite being in the mix makes it almost impossible to project what they want to do looking towards the 2018-19 season.
However, there is one thing certain: the Rossoneri are planning summer reinforcements regardless of the fact if they play in the Champions League or the Europa League. And even though they desperately need a star striker to improve their attacking line, two other players have already been singled out as top transfer targets.
It is believed that Milan will be keen to spent an enormous amount of money once again, and they would use it to sign both Memphis Depay, from Olympique Lyon, and Arturo Vidal, from Bayern Munich. Depay would be a much-needed complement to Suso on the wings, while Vidal would solve the team’s woes in midfield where they need a box-to-box midfield that can operate on both ends of the pitch. Vidal certainly fits that mold.
Deals for these two players, however, will depend on the decision regarding the FFP.
Milan have also moved on the free agent market, and it is believed that the trio of Pepe Reina, Ivan Strinic and Ki Sung-Yueng will arrive at the end of the campaign as free agents.
