Manchester United are already looking at potential transfers for the summer transfer window.
It seems The Red Devils will bolster the defence as a priority, but adding another body in midfield would not hurt, either. And with that in mind, it seems Jose Mourinho has already identified a potential target: Arturo Vidal.
The Portuguese tactician has been a long-time admirer of Vidal, and he has been in love with him since he was one of the best box-to-box midfielders in the world during his Juventus days. He can thrive as a defensive specialist as well, but he fits better on an attacking stance.
Mourinho apparently sees Vidal as the ideal long-term replacement for Michael Carrick in midfield. The team has decent depth in midfield with the likes of Marouane Fellaini, Nemanja Matic, Ander Herrera and Scott McTominay, but there is no question Vidal would represent an upgrade. And he also knows Pogba since both played together in Juventus a few years ago.
The 30-year-old Vidal might leave the side this summer, as Bayern Munich signed Leon Goretzka and there might be not enough space for too many central midfielders in Die Roten. Vidal would be the odd man out, and Bayern would be open to a potential departure.
Vidal’s contract at Bayern runs until 2019. He would fit the profile of players with proven experience that he is determined to inject into his squad.
