Arturo Vidal has said time and time again that he wants to play somewhere where he can feel important. And it seems that’s no longer the case at Barcelona.
The Chile international has started just three La Liga matches this season, and seems to be surplus to requirements at Camp Nou following the arrival of Frenkie De Jong during the summer transfer window. Therefore, he would be open to leave the club during the upcoming January transfer window.
One alternative would be to join Manchester United, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to sign the former Juventus star in order to boost his midfield depth. However, Vidal wouldn’t be happy to move to Old Trafford, and he would have “other priorities” on his mind.
Vidal would be keen to join Inter Milan instead. Not only he’d meet with another Chile international such as Alexis Sanchez, but he would also get to work under Antonio Conte once again. Conte already had Vidal in Juventus, and the former Colo Colo star reached his peak form while playing for The Old Lady.
If we also add the fact that Inter are in desperate need of a central midfield upgrade, then Vidal would fit perfectly at the Serie A giants. One thing is clear, though. He’s not joining Manchester United any time soon.
