It’s quite normal to see Real Madrid being linked with a move for some of the best forwards in the world. And now, Los Merengues are being linked with a move for one of the top striker threats in the Premier League.
According to a report from El Desmarque, Los Blancos are planning a £70m offer for Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. It is believed that Colombian midfielder James Rodriguez would also be included as part of the deal if it goes through.
James deserves a mention as well, because it has to be quite unsettling to be him right now. The Colombian was one of the best players after the 2014 World Cup, but now he is basically being used as a potential trade chip in every potential deal. He was included in a potential Paul Pogba package, and now he is being linked with an exit to Arsenal as well.
Either way, adding Aubameyang wouldn’t make much of a difference for Real Madrid right now. Karim Benzema is having one of the best seasons of his career, and they also have Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo, Gareth Bale and Eden Hazard on the attacking line. Adding another forward wouldn’t solve Madrid’s woes going forward.
