Thomas Lemar was one of the hottest names in the transfer market this past summer. And the France international should once again be at the top of transfer rumours as soon as the window opens up in January next year.
The highly-rated winger was a target for Arsenal and Liverpool during the past summer, but neither club managed to sign him even though The Gunners were reportedly close to acquire him. And they will face some stiff competition to land him now that FC Barcelona has reportedly join the race for his signature.
Barcelona seem happy with the performances of Ousmane Dembele before the French went down with an injury, but they have been tracking Lemar for quite a while now. And considering the 21-year-old has settled as a starter for both AS Monaco and the France national team, Los Blaugranas believe he is ready to join the team and contribute from day one.
It would be a mistake to tab them as favourites to acquire the coveted winger, though. Arsenal are expected to make another run at him after their club-record £90 million bid on transfer deadline day fell through, and Liverpool are keen to follow on their interest too since they could lose Philippe Coutinho to Barca as well.
Lemar has dazzled with Monaco this season, as he has contributed with one goal and three assists in 10 Ligue 1 appearances thus far.
